Many Happy Returns
Today is my 30th birthday. Oh joy. I can’t say that this is a day I’ve been looking forward to. No one likes getting older, and 30 is one of those milestone birthdays. You really can’t be considered a kid anymore. You are an adult. Time to grow up and all that.
It’s one of those birthdays that makes you take stock of your life: where you’ve been, where you’re headed, what you’ve accomplished, what you have not accomplished. Although I do a little of that every birthday, it really hits you at 30. And while I cannot say I have no regrets about the road I have traveled (especially the last 10 years), I do feel like I have a clearer picture of the road ahead of me, or at least the road I’d like to take. I’m still not happy with where I’m at on that path, and I still have a long way to go, but I’m looking forward to the journey. It is not an easy path to tread upon, but then nothing worth having ever comes easily.
If anyone would like to help make this a happy birthday, nothing says love and appreciation to a cartoonist more than supporting his work. And as it happens, I have several copies of the three issue Grimstone comic book series still lying around that I would really love to get rid of. These comics can be purchased on the Store page for $3.95 a piece (plus shipping & handling) via PayPal. Each issue is 24 pages of full color Grimstone wackiness. If you request it, I will even sign them. So go ahead and make this old cartoonist’s day by helping to liquidate some stock. You get a comic you can share with your friends, and I get some much needed birthday money. Everybody wins!
