Comic Con International
So the San Diego Comic Con starts on Thursday. I am not going to this, as it takes place in California, and I’m a broke cartoonist in Indiana. But God do I wish I was going. So many people I want to meet are going to be there. So many opportunities for networking. So much cool swag to buy. But alas, I will have to settle for Wizard World Chicago, a cool little event in its own right. However, I may not even be able to go to that. More a question of time than money there, but money is still a factor.
Money is a huge factor in everything right now. Or rather, the lack thereof. See, I was unemployed for a few weeks (again). I got that job at Game Stop a couple weeks ago, but I’ve only worked 3 days and my hours keep getting cut. I really hope I get this job at Circuit City. Of course, all of this is ultimately temporary. They’re just stupid day jobs to pay the bills while I attempt to get my cartooning career of the ground.
I really hope Creature Feature takes off. I still want to do something for Epic. So much comic stuff I want to work on. So little time. Right now I would just love to get something, ANYTHING, published. If I had the time and money, I’d work on some kind of self published thing. I dunno. I just really want to get out of retail. But then, don’t we all?
