Tomorrow is the Autumnal Equinox, first day of Autumn and one of two days of the year where we have equal amount of day and night. It is a day of balance. As such, it is also the first day of Libra, the Zodiac sign (of which I belong to) represented by the scales. We Librans are all about balance. Autumn is my favorite time of year. It’s not so hot (I dislike the heat), the days are shorter and the nights longer (I’m a night person), and the leaves change to such wonderful colors (Librans also enjoy things of beauty).

And soon it will be October, my favorite month of the year. Great things usually happen to me around this time of year, October in particular. My birthday is in October, we have Halloween, my favorite holiday. In high school, our Homecoming was in October, which was always a fun event for me. Not so much the game itself or a dance (we never had any for Homecoming). No, it was decorating the hallways. I always worked on these great massive posters for Homecoming. I still have the ones from Sophomore and Senior year. I would also sometimes draw decorations for the lockers. Even the back to school time in general was always enjoyable for me. New teachers, making new friends and catching up with old ones. Autumn is my spring. It is a time of renewal, new relationships, new opportunities. I hope this year isn’t any different. This September hasn’t been as good as past, but it’s usually about the 23rd when things pick up for me. It’s like a pendulum beginning to swing the other way. Hopefully this will mean new opportunities for Grimstone or a new job to pay the bills. It would nice to be on an upswing again.

I can feel it though. Autumn is just about here, and I can almost sense the winds of change beginning to blow. Maybe things will finally get better for me now.
