Dawn of the Morningstar » Page 50

Oh wow, I have so much stuff I want to work on right now. And I’ve got school starting in two weeks, which means less time to do it in. But let’s run down the list. In addition to my regular updating of the Grimstone comic strip, I have content to add to the site (cast page, character evolution galleries, blog posts for archive), I have some layout tweaking to do on some of the Dawn of the Morningstar comics, finding new ways to promote the comic, and getting all my ideas organized on a big Grimstone story I’m planning for a later date.

But it’s not just Grimstone. There’s work I need to finish on the DVD of the stop-motion shorts my friends and I made as Rabid Mongoose Productions, there’s my idea for a Flash-animated internet series that would resurrect my old My Martian Friend idea, there’s various superhero comic ideas I want to work on, including a brand new one that I just came up with that is really exciting me. I mean I really want to do something with this. It’s not your typical superhero fare, and it’s in keeping with the supernatural fantasy motif that is a part of Grimstone. I may end up using it if they do another Comic Book Challenge next year.

I think that’s more or less everything. And let’s face it, there just isn’t enough hours in the day for this stuff. Hopefully, I’ll be able to use some of these ideas for projects at school. I am going for animation afterall. And of course, there’s still the matter of finding a new day job to pay those annoying bills. So much to do, so little time. For now, and probably for quite a while, Grimstone takes priority, along with school. I’m hoping I can find new ways to earn some money from Grimstone so I don’t have to rely as much on a day job. But then, wouldn’t we all? One of these other projects will probably surface sooner or later, along with a centralized website for all my creative endeavors, under the Skeleton Crew Media banner. I’m fortunate in that my big problem is having too many ideas. It’s when the creative juices stop flowing that I need to really be concerned.

  1. Almost four years later exactly, and I haven’t finished, like, ANY of this stuff. Some of it I haven’t even started. I have made some progress though. There’s a lot more done on the RMP DVD than there was back then. But there is also still a lot more to be completed. Hell, I’m still trying to finish my degree. Time for these wheels to stop spinning in the air and hit the ground already.
