This is the original character design of Sara Morningstar from 1998. It is very similar to her final appearance. Back then Grimstone was called Supernaturals and Sara was named Melissa Hammond. Supernaturals was going to be a series of dark fantasy animated films. At least, that’s how I approached it. I originally added Melissa as a sort of love interest for Ribcage, the main character. Ribcage was actually alive very early in the story and Melissa was his girlfriend then. He was killed and resurrected as a skeleton but Melissa still cared for him. She helped him and the other characters defeat Krulor (still the Big Bad) and his minions. Elements of this original design would be present in almost every future design.
