Welcome back everyone. Here is the first page of a new, albeit brief, story. And the first one done entirely using my new character models. Nothing was originally drawn for this strip. The models themselves were hand drawn with pencil and paper and scanned in, as all my stuff is. Just nothing new was drawn here. I just swap some heads or faces and rotate some arms, and voila! I don’t know if you like it any better or worse or can even see a difference, but I like it.

I have Ribcage and Sara done, and I’m working on Count Cyanide today (Sunday, when I’m writing this). I have the first three pages done, and should have the next two done by the end of today. So it is definitely looking like I will make the daily schedule for this week. Depending on how soon I can finish the main character models, and how quickly I can get these done, I may consider trying more daily stuff, we’ll just have to wait and see.

I more or less finished Count Cyanide’s model, did some tweaks to Ribcage and Sara, and finished page 4. I’ll have page 5 done today, and I’ll probably start on next week’s comics. They’ll be much more from scratch drawings in the second half because of costumes I have to make for the characters and other stuff. But things are going well. Once I finish the comics for this story, I’ll begin working on the script for the next. I may try to keep things brief for a while, so there may be more 12 page stories. It’ll make it easier to collect several short stories in future book collections.

Oh boy, I had a good laugh today. It seems that my 10 year high school reunion, which was suppose to be this Saturday, has been cancelled. I was not planning on attending because it cost like $100 a person and that’s way too much for a class reunion. Especially, when out of our 200 class graduates, only about 30 RSVP that they will be coming, and then only nine of them actually pay for it! (Probably the 9 people or so that I would actually want to see). So it got cancelled and now they’re going to plan something else for like February. Figures that my class would have an 11 year reunion instead of a 10. Hopefully they keep the cost down this time. I still can’t believe they wanted to have the thing on a Navy Pier cruise.

My friend Aaron said he thought this one was so funny, that he pissed his pants. You can’t ask for a better endorsement than that.

I really like the effect I’ve got going here with the backgrounds. It makes the characters stand out much more than they would without it.

I really like this page alot. I could not be happier with how their pirate costumes turned out. I like them so much, I think I’ll have to use them again in a future story line. I love ‘em!

It’s weird, I’m really liking this new process I’m using to make the comics, but sometimes it seems like it takes longer to do them this way. Partially because I keep getting interrupted and end up breaking up the work across two days. Sometimes it’s because I have to create a new element for the comic from scratch, such as all the pirate stuff. I think once I get into a groove here, probably once this story is complete, I’ll be able to turn these out quicker. Something is definitely working though, because I was able to put up a new comic every single weekday this past week and that hasn’t happened since the comic began!
