The Concept

Grimstone centers around the afterlife of a skeleton named Ribcage J. Bones. Ribcage works as an actor, playing skeletons in horror, fantasy and adventure movies & tv shows. He got his start back in the days of the classic Universal monster movies and is perhaps best known for his role in the original House on Haunted Hill. However, these days work is not as easy to come by as it once was, and his career is not what he would like it to be. He continues to take what roles he can, in hopes of one day achieving the success of which he dreams.

The town of Grimstone is home to many monsters, ghosts, and creatures of the night. On the edge of this macabre hamlet is an old Victorian manor that was once home to Lord Grimstone, the town founder. This residence is now the home of Ribcage and a few of his supernatural acquaintances: his longtime friend – the vampire Count Cyanide, the werewolf known simply as Furface, the deranged poltergeist called Toasty, and the resident bat in the belfry named Dingbat. They are later joined by a young woman named Sara Morningstar, a lonely Goth looking for her place in the world whom Ribcage has become very close with. The group go about their daily “lives”, trying to live together without driving each other insane.
